MWIEDC 2023

In the spring of 2023, the Department of Economics at the University of Houston will host the 20th Midwest International Economic Development Conference (MWIEDC). The conference will take place on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 2023 at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. The conference will commence on Friday morning and will conclude after lunch on Saturday.

The keynote speaker will be Erica Field, Professor of Economics and Global Health at Duke University.

We invite you, and any other interested faculty and graduate students in your department or elsewhere, to submit a paper to present at the conference. Papers on any topic related to international economic development are welcome. Submissions for an entire session (of 3 or 4 papers) are also welcome.

Deadline for submissions is January 5, 2023, and only full paper submissions will be reviewed. You will be notified by January 31, 2023 whether your paper has been accepted.
